The Higher Education Learner Programme

HELP is Here

The Higher Education Learner Programme (HELP) is an online course designed to assist any student new to SETU (or any continuing students who still have questions!). There is useful information here whether you are a full-time, onsite undergraduate; a part-time, online lifelong learner or anyone in between!

We will cover 8 topics in 12 weeks, guiding you through what you need to know and why. If you have a question, here is where you can start.

For information, supports, study hacks and help from other students, bookmark this page and follow us on Social Media.

How Do I Access the Course?

You can access the Topics right here as they are released. See the Release Dates below.

You can also access it through your Virtual Learning Environment.

We will also be sending out content and letting you know about Call Outs and Competitions through our social media platforms, so keep an eye out there too!

Topic 1

We have kept this light but have included information on what is expected of you as a student, and what you can expect from your first lectures. There is a College Dictionary, a Getting Started Checklist and tips on looking for accommodation, commuting and studying online.

Topic 1: Getting Started

Upcoming Topics

Throughout this semester, we will release:

  • Supports and Social Information
  • Digital Skills
  • Organisation and Time-Management
  • Study Skills
  • Academic Writing
  • Citations and Referencing
  • Assessment

What Else Do I Need To Know

We would love to hear from you! We will be online and on campus throughout the semester and we would love to get your input and hear your questions about that week’s topic.

There will be a live element online for every topic– a workshop, a webinar, a discussion or an Ask Me Anything session. We would love to get your feedback on what we should focus on and what questions you would like answered.

HELP is a pilot and we want to make sure that it is helpful to you!

I Still Have Questions
