This certificate introduces students to the core topics underlying the theory and basic psychological constructs in sport and exercise psychology.

The programme takes participants on the journey through the evolution of sport and exercise psychology. This is done by first examining key psychological concepts, such as personality, motivation, attention, stress, learning, memory and perception that learners can then apply to the sport and exercise setting. This conceptual application will enable learners to identify interventions that may be used by sport and exercise psychologists to improve performance and increase participation in sport and exercise.
