Overview

The course will introduce students to the concept of building a work environment that promotes innovative thinking and how to integrate into the organisation. It will provide an understanding on how problems are dealt with in groups and teams and how resulting decisions are made and evaluated. Students will explore the human contributors to the decision-making process, as well as underlying ethical considerations. The Certificate aims to develop practical skills in using team-based decision-making techniques to enhance students’ participation in decision-making processes. It also addresses the need for taking an innovative and creative approach in such matters.

On completion of this course, students should be able to:

Identify key models and levels of strategic management.
Utilise strategic assessment and organisation scanning methods.
Analyse how to create an innovative environment.
Apply innovative techniques to decision-making.
Deliver and formulate more effective decision-making within team activities through the use of specific techniques.
Develop and design suitable measures of performance and required behaviours and attributes from staff.
