Overview

This Certificate is a follow on from the Certificate in IP Networks (Level 6). These types of programmes are not taught on the majority of electronics or IT academic programmes but the specific skill is an absolute requirement for all Information Communications Technology (ICT) companies in developing network technology and for all organisations who operate an IT or ICT network.

Students will study;

  • IP Networking 3
  • IP Networking 4

On completion of this programme, students should be able to;

  • Describe the advantages of Link State over Distance Vector routing protocols and configure Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) as a Link State routing protocol
  • Implement an IP addressing scheme and IP Services to meet network requirements in a medium-size Enterprise branch office network using OSP
  • Configure, implement and test IP Multicast for streaming traffic
  • Implement Network Address Translation (NAT) and Filtering mechanisms
  • Operate in network technician support roles and operate in field network technician roles
  • Design and configure an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) addressing scheme and IPv6 Services to meet network requirements in a medium-size Enterprise branch office network.
