Overview

This course will provide graduates with specialised knowledge in the area of construction project management. Students will focus on the key areas pertaining to the role of the project manager and will be able to apply the knowledge obtained to construction projects.  Graduates will be equipped with the skills required to define, plan, implement and complete projects. This includes how to critically analyse and evaluate scenarios in project risk management, stakeholder management and performance and be able to recommend strategies for improvement. They will also gain skills to critically evaluate the financial aspects of construction firms. Students will model project management scenarios using software to develop critically informed decisions (MERIT or similar).

With no formal examination required, assessment will be through project and practical work only.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will be considered on an individual basis in accordance with the Institute policy on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). IT Carlow reserve the right to require applicants to attend for interview to determine their suitability for the programme.
