The traditional route to third level education is through the Central Applications Office after sitting the Leaving Certificate. The Leaving Certificate is a NFQ Level 5 qualification and the courses available for fulltime study are detailed here.
Further Education and Training (FET) courses and courses at NFQ Level 5 and NFQ Level 6 are provided by Colleges of Further Education. Having an NFQ Level 5/6 award in a specific FET course can provide a pathway to entry to a linked course in Institute of Technology Carlow.
