What are the scholarships for?
The scholarships are intended to remove financial barriers so that older learners can unlock their potential and realise their ambitions. They will provide multi-annual financial support for recipients to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree for the first time. Scholarships can be any subject area and will be tailored to recipients’ financial circumstances. Preference will be given to candidates on full-time programmes.
Who are the scholarships for?
- Applicants must be 23 years and older,
- a citizen of an EEA member state or Switzerland AND resident in Ireland or Northern Ireland for 3 years or more.
- Successful applicants must apply to and be offered a place on a Bachelor’s Programme for 2022/23 in participating institution(s) on the island of Ireland.
How to apply?
Applicants must apply to Uversity by 25th March 2022 with their biographical and contact details, education and employment to date, a motivation statement and details of two referees.
Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate academic potential, a clear motivation and ambition for returning to education, a drive to succeed and strong work ethic and financial need. Uversity is particularly keen to support candidates who have an ability to be transformed and transform others as a result of this scholarship and educational experience.
All applications will be reviewed by Uversity for eligibility and may be shortlisted for interview. Successful candidates will be notified by 1st July 2022. Scholarship offers will be made to successful candidates subject to financial assessment, confirmation of admission to a Bachelor’s Programme in a participating institution and acceptance of Uversity’s terms and conditions. Scholarships payments will be made monthly throughout the duration of the Bachelor’s degree subject to continued academic registration and progress.
