Important message

You should ensure that you have access to the correct modules on Blackboard in order to access your exam paper on the day of your exam. You can do this by;

  • Logging into your Blackboard account and then checking your “My Courses” list on Blackboard.
  • Check that all your required modules are listed there and then also check each module listed to ensure it is an “active“ Blackboard course, where recent course content, announcements etc are visible.
  • If a required module does not appear to be an active Blackboard course or one of your modules is not listed you should email examinations@itcarlow.ie BEFORE APRIL 3RD for assistance

If you don’t have access now to the module you may not be able to do your exam on the day – so please check.

Important Notes for Online Examinations and Assessments

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you have access to the correct modules on Blackboard to pick up your exam papers at the date and time given on the exam timetable. You can do this by;
    • Logging into your Blackboard account and then checking your “My Courses” list on Blackboard.
    • Check that all your required modules are listed there and then also check each module listed to ensure it is an “active“ Blackboard course, where recent course content, announcements etc are visible.
    • If a required module does not appear to be an active Blackboard course or one of your modules is not listed you should email examinations@itcarlow.ie BEFORE APRIL 3RD for assistance
  • Online Assessments do not have an end time on the timetable as some assessments may run over a number of days. Your lecturer/department will be in contact with you regarding submission dates and times where you have an online assessment to complete.

Repeat Examinations

It is no longer possible to register to sit a Repeat Exam in Summer 2021

Repeat Examination Registration for Summer 2021 Closes Friday February 26th at 5pm

If you have an exam to repeat in May 2021 you must

  1. Pay the relevant fee
  2. Email examinations@itcarlow.ie no later than 5pm on Friday, February 26th to ensure you are registered to sit your repeat exam.

If you received a deferral (a deferred result) in previous exams and now wish to sit that exam in Summer 2021, please email examinations@itcarlow.ie by 26th February – 5pm to register for that exam. You must make contact with the Exams Office through this email address to ensure that you are eligible and registered to take the exam in Summer 2021.

Will I get an official copy of my results?
Official copies will be released on the Digitary system. You can access Digitary below. Use a capital ‘C’ for your student ID number when logging in. If you cannot remember your password click on the ‘Can’t sign in’ section to reset password.

Exit Awards

If you have completed two years or upwards of your course it is sometimes possible to leave the course ‘early’ at Higher Certificate (NFQ L06) or Ordinary Degree (NFQ L07) this is called an Exit Award. Please note this option is not available for all courses. Please check with your Faculty office if this option applies to your course. 

If you wish to apply for an Exit award please complete this form EXIT AWARD FORM

(To qualify for an exit award you must have achieved the required appropriate credits, i.e. 120 ECTS credits in the case of the Higher Certificate and 180 ECTS Credits in the case of the Ordinary Degree)

The closing date for applications is the 20th September each year. When you have downloaded and completed the form please email it to examinations@itcarlow.ie.
