Repeat Exam Information

On Campus Exams

  • Students must enter through the Barrow Centre Entrance and adhere to one way system
  • Please bring as little as possible into the college with you on Exam days, however should you need it the Students Union will be operating a cloakroom facility

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 on campus, every student must confirm that they have read and completed the COVID-19 Return to Campus Declaration Form before returning to campus and that they understand their obligations in contacting the relevant Institute staff should they be required to do so as outlined on the COVID-19 Return to Campus Declaration Form.

This COVID-19 Return to Campus Declaration Form will be available here from the 31st August 2020. This form must be completed within 48 hours prior to coming on campus.

If you are under 18 years of age at this time, you are required to contact examinations@itcarlow.ie for a Declaration form, which will need to be signed by your parent/legal guardian, and sent to examinations@itcarlow.ie

Online Exams

If your exam is an online exam, you will access it either through Blackboard or through your student Email account.

You must check that you have the correct access i.e. that you can access Blackboard and Email. If you cannot access these channels, contact itservices@itcarlow.ie for assistance.

How do I access my results?
You will need your Student ID and password.
If my ID & Password are not working who do I contact?

What does Exemptions Granted mean?
You have passed some but not all subjects and you need to repeat all those with marks of less than 40.
What do I do about the Exams if I have failed?
You are advised to re-sit the exams in Autumn 2020.
Note: Where you have deferred a subject you will be automatically entered to re-sit this subject in the Autumn 2020 exams, there is no charge for deferred subjects. Where you have a combination of deferred and failed subjects you must use the link at the bottom of the page to enter for the failed modules and pay the appropriate fee.
How do I enter for Repeat Exams?
When you view your results (click here to access) there is a link at the bottom of the page for you to use to enter for the Autumn Exams. The closing date to register for a Repeat Exam is Friday July 31st 2020. No registrations will be accepted after this date. You are not entered for the exams until you pay the fee.
When are the Autumn exams taking place?
Autumn exams will take place from 1st September – 9th September. Timetable will be published on the website.
How much does it cost to repeat exams?
€50 per subject.

How do I pay the repeat fee?
You can pay the fee online using the following link.
How do I request a Review?
You should complete the online Exam Paper Review form. This link will be made live when results are published. The fee is €25 per subject.
You have 5 days after the exam results are published to request a Review. Specific deadlines will be communicated when results are published.
Who will carry out the review?
The lecturer for the subject plus one other lecturer or external examiner.

When will I get the result of the review?
You will be notified by email when the results of your review are available.

Can I view my Exam Script / Breakdown of Marks?

Yes you can and where possible you will be provided with the model answers also. To do so download the form from Blackboard and e-mail it to Examinations@itcarlow.ie You have 5 days after the exam results are published to request a Viewing. Specific deadlines will be communicated when results are published.

Will I get an official copy of my results?
Official copies will be released on the Digitary system in July. It is anticipated that all results will be released on Digitary by the 31st July. You can access Digitary below. Use a capital ‘C’ for your student ID number when logging in. If you cannot remember your password click on the ‘Can’t sign in’ section to reset password.
You may also access Summer only results for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 results on the above link if the exams were completed in one sitting.
