Students’ Union

IT Carlow’s Students’ Union is a representative organisation which supports, defends, and collaborates with all registered students of IT Carlow. Becoming a registered student at IT Carlow means you automatically become a member of our Students’ Union. We are run by you, the students, for you, the students!

The Students’ Union is made up of four full-time Sabbatical officers otherwise known as The Union Executive Team. Each member of the union executive team has their own specific role in how they represent students.

We are a safe-space where every student of IT Carlow is always welcome. The union is open from 8:30am – 9pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am – 7pm on Friday. There are many facilities available here such as:

  • Large Seating Area
  • 5 Pool Tables (€1 per game)
  • Project Binding (€2 per document)
  • Student Store
  • Playstation
  • Tvs

Coming to college is so much more than getting a degree; it’s also learning about you as a person, meeting new people, getting involved in sports clubs and societies, and securing friends for life. We are here to make sure you have the best student experience at IT Carlow. This can be by organising events for you to meet new people both on and off campus, running campaigns to inform you about important student topics, contacting SUSI to get your grant issues resolved, or reviewing institute policy to ensure you are being treated fairly.

During the year you will see us running campaigns and events that relate to many different elements of college life. We run campaigns on promoting positive mental, physical & sexual health, exam de-stress and many more. We also hold events both on and off campus throughout the year which are a great way to meet new people and blow off some steam as the year goes on. You will also have the opportunity to some live music, comedy acts, hypnotists, magicians and see some fellow student’s get involved in the antics.

The SU is a perfect place to come and chill out before and after class. Everyone is more than welcome to come over so don’t be a stranger!
