Competitive Sport

The Institute of Technology Carlow provides a wide range of competitive sports clubs. The investment in these resources as well as our acquisition of some of the best coaches in Ireland has ensured we are fast becoming the institute of choice for emerging talents. Our main competitive sports include GAA, Camogie, Rugby, Soccer and Basketball in both male and female categories.

The culture at the Institute of Technology Carlow is very much student centred and our Sports Department provide every student with the opportunity to reach their full potential by getting involved in student life. With up to 40 active clubs, there is a huge diversity of activity among the many sports clubs. As well as the opportunities for friendship and social interaction there is the added bonus of increased physical activity and exercise in all clubs and the very special camaraderie, atmosphere and enjoyment which is part and parcel of Institute's Sports Club programme.
