Tuesday 6th March 2018 11.00am - The Institute’s Wexford Campus will re-open on Wednesday 7th March 2018 for full-time students and lifelong learning students.  Thank you for your ongoing co-operation as we endeavour to return to normal activity levels in the coming days.

Monday 5th March 2018, 1.30pm - Update on Wexford Campus

The Wexford Campus is currently without a water supply and there is no available information regarding the expected return of the supply.   In the interests of the health and safety of the students and staff of the Wexford Campus, a decision has been taken to remain closed on Tuesday 6th March pending restoration of the water supply.  The Institute will monitor the situation and provide relevant updates as soon as they become available from Irish Water.  Thank you for your ongoing co-operation as we endeavour to return to normal activity levels in the coming days.
 

Monday 5th March 2018, 10.30 am - Update on Lifelong Learning in Carlow, Wicklow, Cavan and Longford

Lifelong Learning classes at Carlow, Wicklow, Cavan and Longford will proceed as scheduled from tonight, Monday 5th March 2018.

The Institute’s Wexford Campus will remain closed on Monday 5th March.  The situation in Wexford remains under review regarding an anticipated reopening on Tuesday 6th March.  A further update will be provided to staff and students by 2.30 pm on Monday 5th March when additional information on conditions in Wexford are available.

Notwithstanding the above, all students and staff are advised to keep themselves appraised of any updates for their particular locations from Met Éireann and from their local authorities.

Sunday 4th March 2018, 2.30pm - The Institute’s Carlow Campus will re-open on Monday 5th March 2018 for full-time students and lifelong learning students.   There may be disruptions to scheduled activities depending upon the operation of regional public transport systems and road conditions.  Any examinations planned for Monday 5th March at the Carlow Campus will therefore be rescheduled. 

The Institutes Wexford Campus will remain closed on Monday 5th March.  The situation in Wexford remains under review regarding an anticipated reopening on Tuesday 6th March.  A further update will be provided to staff and students by 2.30 pm on Monday 5th March when additional information on conditions in Wexford are available.

Recommencement of evening lifelong learning classes on Monday 5th March in Wicklow County Campus, Longford and Cavan remain under review.  These are impacted by local conditions, many of which will not become clear until Monday morning. Decisions on each area will be confirmed by 2.30 pm on Monday 5th March 2018.

Saturday 3rd March 2018, 6.00pm - Following a review of information available at this time, it is anticipated that the Institute’s Carlow Campus will re-open as normal on Monday 5th March 2018 for full-time students. However, there may be disruptions to scheduled activities depending upon the operation of public transport systems and the condition of roads.  Therefore any examinations planned for Monday 5th March at the Carlow Campus are cancelled and will be rescheduled. 

The re-opening of the Wexford Campus for full-time students remains under review at this time and a decision will be communicated before 2.30pm on Sunday 4th March when a full assessment has been possible.

Regarding the recommencement of lifelong learning evening classes on Monday 5th March 2018 across all campuses in Carlow, Wexford and Wicklow, together with provision in Longford and Cavan, these are impacted by local conditions, many of which will not become clear until Monday morning. Decisions on each area will be confirmed no later than 1.00pm on 5th March 2018.

Wednesday 28th February, 1.30pm - A status red snow-ice weather warning has been issued for Leinster valid from Thursday 1st March to Friday 2nd March by MET Eireann. Given the expected ongoing disruption to transport and safety considerations, all campuses of the Institute will close at 3.30pm today Wednesday, 28th February for the remainder of the week.

It is anticipated that all campuses will reopen on Monday, 5th March 2018, with a resumption of all activities. Further updates will be provided on the Institute's social media channels.

Wednesday 28th February, 8.30am - All examinations and classes planned for the Carlow and Wexford Campuses today are postponed. An opportunity to resit examinations will be provided on a date to be confirmed. The Institute campuses in Carlow and Wexford will remain open. The Institute's Wicklow Campus will be closed today.
