Ms McGann is a graduate of University College Dublin where she completed her undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering in 1999. She completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Physical Planning at Trinity College Dublin in 2005 and her MA in Teaching and Learning from SETU Carlow in 2012. She worked in Civil Engineering consultancy roles for 8 years before taking up the position of Lecturer in the Department of Built Environment and Extended Campus at SETU Carlow. She obtained her Chartered Engineer status from Engineers Ireland.

Academic and Research Experience
Has lectured at undergraduate level in Highway Engineering, Information Technology, Construction Technology, Engineering Drawing, Material Science and Engineering Science and has supervised final year research projects for 3rd and 5th year students. Has been involved in programme development at undergraduate level. Research interests include the use of Technology in Engineering Education, Highway and Traffic Engineering and Materials in Road Construction.

Has supervised research projects at Level 7 and 8. The research areas covered include construction materials used in roads, road design and traffic analysis, permeability of road construction materials
Engagement and Collaboration
Is a Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland since 2000 and has served on the Roads and Transportation Committee.
