Research Interests

Dr O'Hagan holds a BSc in Physiology, PhD in Exercise Physiology, and a PG Cert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

Before moving to IT Carlow in 2018, she worked in applied practice in sport and health at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Australian Institute of Sport, UCD Institute for Sport and Health, and Coaching Ireland, and lectured in sport and exercise science in UCD, Institute of Technology Tallaght, and Sheffield Hallam University, where she was the course leader for a BSc in Physical Activity, Sport and Health.

Her research interests are in both performance sport and physical activity for health, with current projects environmental physiology, resistance training with older adults, and physical activity in pregnancy.
