Research Interests

Dr. Hennessy’s research interests include branding, sports management and the sport horse industry. Karen has conducted research on behalf of the Irish Horse Board which involved profiling the industry and providing recommendations on the future development of the sport horse industry. Her PhD looked at Brand Equity in the Value Chain with particular focus on Irish Sport Horse Markets.

In more recent times Dr. Hennessy’s research while still focused on the sport horse industry has diversified into sports performance analysis and safety within the equestrian sports.
