Applications now being accepted for GPA IT Carlow Scholarships

applications now being accepted for gpa it carlow scholarshipsThe application process is now open for two post graduate masters scholarships being offered by Institute of Technology Carlow (IT Carlow) and the Gaelic Players Association (GPA). These scholarships are opened to both male and female GPA members. All prospective applicants are being urged to get their applications in as soon as possible with the July 2nd deadline fast approaching. 

This is the third year of these jointly funded scholarships. The scholarships are open to all post graduate programmes at IT Carlow in the areas of:
 

- Health and Sport
- Business
- Digital Marketing and Design
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Science
- Engineering
- Computing and Data Science

In attendance at a photo call to mark the opening of the application process at IT Carlow were Cormac O’Toole, IT Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Donal McNally, IT Carlow Director of Sport, Alan Nolan, IT Carlow GAA Games Development Officer, Maria Kinsella, GPA Chair and the following GPA members and IT Carlow Students - Joey Wallace - Meath Football (Previous scholarship recipient), Trevor Collins - Laois Football, Ciara Kavanagh - Carlow Camogie and Fiona Dooley - Laois Football (Previous scholarship recipient).

Speaking on behalf of the GPA, Head of Finance and Operations Ciarán Barr said; “Our scholarship programme is one of our key educational supports available to players and that would not be possible without our partners. I would like to thank IT Carlow for their ongoing recognition of the efforts of their student athletes. These scholarships are a massive help as they try and balance their sporting and academic lives.”

Alan Nolan, Course Tutor & GAA Games Development Officer at Institute of Technology Carlow said; “We in IT Carlow recognise the relationship between academic performance, health and wellbeing and in recognition of this are delighted to continue this successful partnership between the GPA and the Institute. This collaboration highlights our combined commitment to the holistic development of student athletes by supporting them to fulfil their academic and sporting potential”.

All prospective scholarship candidates must apply through the IT Carlow PAC online system as per normal academic procedure. Applications and entry criteria will be assessed by IT Carlow.
