New Network Skills Development Workshop Announced for Small Business Employees IT CarlowAre you a front-line worker seeking to develop your career prospects? Are you interested in experiencing higher education while expanding your business networks?

A brand new initiative designed for employees of small businesses who wish to develop their career prospects by expanding their network of contacts and engaging with their local higher education provider has been announced.

The Network Skills Development Workshop is free-of-charge and has been co-developed and delivered by Waterford Institute of Technology & Institute of Technology Carlow as part of the Technological University for the South East initiative.

The programme is open to employees of small businesses of less than 50 employees, who can avail of a two-hour “taster evening” workshop to develop their networking skills and identify future learning requirements. Participants may choose to attend the ‘taster’ in IT Carlow (6th March) or WIT (13th March). This will be followed by an on-line forum and webinar. In addition to meeting fellow small firm employees from the region and regional stakeholders, participants will interact with both institutions’ faculty members from business, lifelong learning, education and e-learning - offering an opportunity to experience higher education while expanding one’s business networks.

No prior higher education experience is required for participation in the programme and participants will be assigned a tutor to assist them on the programme. A certificate of attendance will be awarded on completion of the programme.

Places are limited to a maximum of 20 participants per campus. For further on the upcoming IT Carlow workshop and to apply visit: https://www.itcarlow.ie/events.htm/view/id/5043 or email: una.grant@setu.ie
