Institute of Technology Carlow Hosts Annual International Day


A Cultural Extravaganza!

Institute of Technology Carlow will today host its annual International Day, where Erasmus and Non-EU students attending the Institute seize the opportunity to showcase all of the uniqueness of their culture. The event will be open for all staff and students to come and sample native nibbles, chat to the students and learn interesting facts about their countries and witness some fantastic cultural song and dance displays.

This year will mark the 15th anniversary of International Day at Institute of Technology Carlow, where students from more than 88 different nationalities come to study each year. International Day will see display stands representing 21 different countries, including India, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Ukraine, USA and Canada.

Speaking in advance of the day, Mary Bates, International Co-ordinator at Institute of Technology Carlow said “Each year this is a fantastic opportunity for the international students to show their culture and heritage through visuals, food, music and performances.”

Activities will take place on the ground floor of the Central Services Building in the Institute, running from 10.30am to 2.00pm, with entertainment commencing at 1.30pm.
