IT Carlow Hosts All-Ireland PostGrad Conference in Sports Sciences, Physical Activity & Physical Education

IT Carlow recently hosted the 4th Annual All-Ireland Postgraduate Conference in Sport Sciences, Physical Activity & Physical Education.

The event featured 64 presenting delegates from 11 Irish third-level institutions in addition to non-presenting delegates and faculty staff.  The conference focused on the theme of ‘Research to Practice’ and the addition of practical evidence based workshops under the three areas of Sports Performance, Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation, and Physical Activity and Education were a huge success.

The two keynote speakers, Dr Nick Winkelman, Head of Athletic Science at the IRFU and Dr Barry Lambe, Lecturer at WIT, had the audience in the palm of their hands and set the bar for the remainder of the conference.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity for postgraduate students to present research, network and forward new collaborations in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment.
