27/02/2014

IT Carlow student Gemma Lynch took first place in the ‘Best Student’ Category at the Samsung Digital Media Awards recently. Gemma, a 2nd year Visual Communications and Design student, based at the Wexford campus of IT Carlow created an animated piece on the role mobile devices play in International relations and global development. The competition was open to all third level students and IT Carlow was exceptionally well represented - four of the five finalists were IT Carlow Visual Communications and Design students.

The Samsung Digital Media Awards celebrate excellence in all aspects of digital media. Created in 2003 and now in their 11th year, the Awards offer a platform for the dynamic work taking place across the broad spectrum of digital media in Ireland and abroad.

The Institute of Technology Carlow would like to congratulate Gemma and all the IT Carlow students involved in this year’s awards.
