SETU Carlow welcomes U21 Performance Analyst Martin Doyle to master’s programme

The Sport, Media and Marketing department at SETU are delighted to welcome Martin Doyle, U21 Lead Performance Analyst at Football Association of Ireland to study on the Carlow campus. Martin who has just returned from international duty with Ireland at the U21 European Championship playoffs, took up a place on the MSc in Sports Performance Analysis. Martin has been a long-time analyst with Ireland’s U21s and currently holds a full-time role in the FAI Coach Education Dept. as a Lead UEFA Advanced Coach Educator.

Johnny Bradley, Programme Director of the MSc Sports Performance Analysis recently stated, “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Martin onto our MSc in Sports Performance Analysis in 2022. Our MSc is well-matched for applied practitioners like Martin who want to further develop their technical skills and competences in Sports Performance Analysis. Furthermore, the programme is delivered through a blended learning approach between on-campus and online delivery, so it is perfect for practitioners like Martin already working in the industry’.

Master of Science in Sports Performance Analysis offers students a blend of theory and practice, ensuring the practical knowledge and experience they gain is underpinned by a theoretical foundation.  The programme aims to provide graduates with the necessary academic, practical and research-based skills to become an effective performance analysis practitioner.

Martin is also looking forward to studying at SETU, “I’m delighted to accept a place on the Performance Analysis Masters programme in SETU Carlow. I’m excited about the prospect of developing my skillset, understanding and knowledge to improve the quality of analysis I provide to the staff, teams and players I’m working with. The course has a rich history and is well respected, especially within football, with past graduates and fellow FAI employees - Gary Seery, Shane Power and Ger Dunne saying great things about their experiences and learnings while in SETU Carlow”.
