Medical Insurance & Wellbeing

All students must have private medical insurance for the duration of their study at SETU Carlow. We have negotiated an insurance arrangement with Study & Protect Insurance

To apply for your medical insurance you need to contact the Insurers directly at info@studyandprotect.com or you can ring them at +353 (0)1 6395800 in Dublin.

In general terms there are two levels of Insurance on offer;

Standard student medical insurance policy (€150.00 for one year)

The limit of cover is €2.5 million and policy excess is €100.00. This excess is a deductible. This means that the student is responsible for the first €100.00 of any claim.

Superior student medical insurance policy (€200.00 for one year)

The limit of cover is €5 million and policy excess is €50.00. This excess is a deductible. This means that the student is responsible for the first €50.00 of any claim they make.

The Insurers also offer reduced rates for shorter periods of cover if students requires this. These quotes can be obtained by completing the ‘Quick Quote’ section on the Study & Protect website.

Please note that SETU Carlow does not accept responsibility for the purchase of health insurance on behalf of a student. Students are advised to read the information carefully to allow them make an informed choice and to contact the company directly should any queries arise. If you wish to obtain health insurance from an insurance provider other than the above mentioned company you can do so.
