11/03/2013 - INSPIRE Information Event - IT Carlow

An Information Event for the INSPIRE programme was held in IT Carlow on Monday 11th March. Though there was snow and freezing conditions in the region all day the event was very well attended


Programme Manager, Brian Ogilvie, introduced the INSPIRE Programme and spoke about the value of an innovative culture within an organisation. A presentation by Hilary Dempsey of DesignCore reinforced this concept by showcasing some examples of the projects which DesignCore have worked on with companies. The specialist team who will be working with participants on INSPIRE were introduced: Aidan Kenny, Servitize Ltd.; Alan Carey, Carey Associates Ltd.; Brian O’Kane, Oak Tree Press Ltd.; Arthur Griffin, Midas Business Consulting Ltd. and Grainne Cleare and Brian Andrews, ID8 Consulting Ltd. Each of them spoke briefly about their expertise and their engagement in the INSPIRE programme.


Finally, Brian Ogilvie outlined the programme format, which will consist of 7 modules: Ideation and Entrepreneurial Creativity, Market Validation, New Product Development and Technology Transfer, Innovation Management, New Venture Capital and Risk Management, Intellectual Property and Individual Consultancy. The workshops are scheduled approximately every 3 weeks and will take place in the Kilkenny Innovation Centre in St. Kieran’s College, Kilkenny. Individual  1-2-1 mentoring sessions will take place after the completion of each module.
