Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property (IP) is managed by the Research and Commercialisation Support Centre, located in the Dargan Centre. The office provides a professional and efficient approach to the commercialisation of research and facilitates the licensing and managing of IP for collaborative RDI projects. It supports the generation of high-potential start-ups and spin-out companies, and also actively collaborates with companies through market-informed applied research projects and knowledge transfer.
Institute of Technology Carlow is part of a Knowledge Transfer consortium with Maynooth University, Waterford Institute of Technology and Athlone Institute of Technology, which is supported by Knowledge Transfer Ireland, and Enterprise Ireland. The consortium has a team of dedicated technology transfer specialists with considerable experience of directing innovation and commercialising technologies across a wide range of sectors.
