Duties: Job Scope The primary role of the Project Engineer is to assist the Project Manager in managing the build of a 110kV overhead power line. The role involves supporting project activities to ensure that key milestones are achieved in a timely manner and to a high quality standard. This role is forms an integral part of the projects success. Needs to Have Civil Engineering degree Experience in a project management / office environment advantageous Highly Proficient in IT skills; MS Office especially Excel, Access; Experienced Adobe Acrobat user Experience in setting out sites to GPS co-ordinates Good technical aptitude Full driver’s license Ability to drive forklift / teleporter an advantage Needs to Do Design Co-ordination • Deal with any design concerns during construction phase • Close out as build data for client safety files upon completion of construction works • As Builds to be submitted with final pay app submissions • As builds to be updated weekly Material Management • Manage material movements • Liaise with client on material management for the project • Assist in material movement using forklift as may be required • Monitor stock levels and cleanliness of stores and action correction by discussing with TCO and PM • Develop and maintain excellent working relations with client representatives Financials • Provide data to PM for inclusion in P+L. • Arrange for PO’s as required and seek approvals from correct channels • Manage the tools/equipment/PPE replacement to ensure subcontractors comply with Client requirements Health & Safety • Assist in any H&S documentation as may be required by the CDM regulations to ensure a high standard is accomplished & maintained. • Must be aware of all H&S policies, attention to detail is critical. • Aim to carry out 1 site safety / environmental audits on site per week. Customer Care • Escalate any issues to the project manager as needed, and ensure issues are followed up and closed off. Maintain the customer feedback log, and analyse feedback to assist the Project Manager to implement improvements as needed SHEQ • Be familiar with the KTL WAY, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Management systems and identify improvements where required. Quality Completion Packs • Ensure Quality Audits are carried out on all construction activities • Close out any Quality Audit matters that all can learn from and improve • Close out the as built data following work completion data received from site. Tracking of Information • Manage the InfraTrack system and promote the usage of the system by all staff. Follow up non compliance with individuals and PM when required. • Arrange training and assist in development of employees. • Help in developing the system to client acceptance. • Aim to develop usage to cover, safety, quality, production monitoring and financial control. Information Flow • Support the project team with the flow of information within the team to ensure effective communication within the team Reviews/ Presentations • Assist in the preparation of Client Reviews/ Presentations as required Needs to Be Able to work on own initiative, be resourceful & have excellent problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to take ownership for tasks and responsibilities & deliver results Strong communicator with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills Detailed orientated and able to operate in a dynamic and fast paced organisation
