Hi all,

Welcome to the IT Carlow Law Society. I hope all students had a wonderful summer holiday. For those of you in first year, I am confident that the Law Society will make your time in IT Carlow worth remembering. We pride ourselves as being one of the top Law Societies in the country.

The unique location of our school is a major draw for students the world over. The atmosphere of the campus is relaxed and full of laughter. Students who visited IT Carlow always form a strong affinity for the school, part of the reason being the close relationships between students and our fantastic, sophisticated and legally minded Law Lecturers. Over all, feel free everyone, we are team-based and always there for each other.

IT Carlow Law Society provides a platform for its members interested in showcasing their innate abilities, oratorical talents and creativity. Are you the type who wants to share thoughts and ideas with your co-students? Do you enjoy reasoned argument and the art of public speaking? If so, the IT Carlow Law Society is definitely for you. I and my Committee are looking forward to meeting our targets all through the course of the school session. We have some progressive and innovative programmes lined up. I suggest that all Law Students should visit Law Society Website as often as practicable in order to keep abreast of upcoming events.

I am more hopeful than ever and encouraging everyone to come on board and be actively involved in every stage of our Society’s programmes. I am open to any ideas that would move the Society forward, so please convey your concepts to me or any of my Committee members. Looking forward to seeing you all and please do not hesitate to stop me at any given time should you need to ask me question. Enjoy your time in College!

Dear Students,

I am very pleased to welcome you to IT Carlow Law Society.

The study of law has developed significantly at IT Carlow over the past decade, with the Institute now offering a suite of law programmes, including an undergraduate Law Degree Accredited by the Honorable Society of Kings Inns. Other programmes include a Bachelor of Business (Honours) Degree in Business with Law, as well as Higher Certificates in Legal Studies and Business with law.

Graduates from our programmes have gone on to successfully complete their FE-1’s or Barrister at Law Degree. Others are completing Masters Degrees in Law.

Law at IT Carlow is continuing to evolve. We aim to offer a supportive and inclusive environment to our students, with smaller class sizes leading to strong relationships between staff and students.

It is against this backdrop that the IT Carlow Law Society has evolved. The society, which has grown vastly over the past number of years, offers all law students the opportunity to engage in activities such as debating, court visits, social events and of course the annual Law Ball. The society also plays an important role in supporting students through their Degree, with members offering advice and encouragement whenever needed. This is particularly important in first year when students are adapting to college life.

The Law Society presents students with the opportunity to meet socially with their fellow students and create new friendships, many of which will last a lifetime.
