IT Carlow's Tribes and Towers wins award

IT Carlow's Tribes and Towers wins awardHonours degree students from IT Carlow completed a two day Microsoft Hackaton at GMIT, building games for recently released Windows 10. They decided to build games themed 'Tribes and Towers' which will be showcased during next weeks open day. One of the titles created, Donkey Tower, was awarded Best Team Game Award. IT Carlow students programmed the game in C++ and utilised a Physics engine Box2D.
 
Welcoming back the award winning students to the Kilkenny road campus Nigel Whyte, Head of Department Computing and Networking, said "Ireland's technology sector is currently absorbing the graduates we produce, demand for programmers continues to grow year on year". Whyte went on to say "we're delighted that our students are producing award winning games and software and proud to demonstrate their creations to leaving certificate students during next weeks Open Day".
