14/12/2012 - INSPIRE Launch – Pembrokeshire, Wales

On Friday 14th December 2012 the INSPIRE project was officially launched at the Bridge Innovation Centre in Pembroke Dock.The event was broadcast live on Pembrokeshire Radio and members of both the Welsh and Irish project team were interviewed on air.

The launch opened with an Introduction from the Project Director, Tony Streatfield, who introduced the other members of the INSPIRE project team and gave a short overview of the INSPIRE Project to date.

Tony then introduced Ivan Reedman of Torquing Robotics Technology who are based at the Bridge Innovation Centre. Ivan detailed some of his work in the robotics field and showcased some of his innovative new products.

Both David Pugh, Pembrokeshire County Council Cabinet member and Spokesperson for Economy, Tourism and Communities and Lawrence Holt of Lightworks and Chair of the INSPIRE Project Steering Group also gave addresses at the launch.

Peter Lord, INSPIRE Project Manager Pembrokeshire then introduced the keynote speaker Richard Watson, scenario planning specialist, author and speaker. Richard gave an entertaining and thought-provoking speech on the need for innovation and creativity to be a core tenet of all organisations.
